New coastal trail west of Opotiki

Several kilometres of new coastal trail is now in place along Waiotahe beach, 4km west of Ōpōtiki. The trail is in place from Waiotahe Drifts, near the Ōpōtiki Surf Club, through to Te Ahiaua/the Pipi beds. There are some spectacular beach sections.

The goal is that, all going well, by mid-2022 this new trail will connect back to Ōpōtiki at Waioeka bridge.
